Art To Grow On Children’s Art Center, Inc. opened it’s doors to the South Bay and Los Angeles in 2000 and I am truly so proud to say that with a start of 6 students, we now provide programs and services to hundreds of students per week yielding thousands and thousands of students per year. Our youngest Peewee Picasso students begin their creative journey at 18 months old in many of our City, preschool, and ECC classrooms. Our elementary age students thrive on having outlets and the time to express themselves, increasing those very important “grit and perseverance” muscles. Our middle school students flourish in having opportunities to create and explore and are able to see that the act of “making” can minimize some of that school stress. Our adult participants find that taking time out from their busy work life or daily demands and doing something creative adds much needed joy. Our seniors not only find beauty in the creative process, but strengthen their fine motor skills, sharpen cognitive pathways, and elevate their sense of well being.
Our Arts-Based Curriculum introduces our students to the Great Masters, STEAM and STEM Lessons and or Project Based Learning Activities. From Van Gogh to Monet to Automotive Design and Frank Gehry and Frank Lloyd Wright, students learn technique, composition, design, problem solving and resourcefulness with each and every lesson.
We know that by being involved in the “creative process” and embracing all the incredible benefits that art provides, the path to become optimal thinkers, creative human beings, compassionate learners and global citizens soars.
Art To Grow On Inc. was awarded the 2012 LA Parent Magazine Best Of Kids Art Programs, was the recipient of the Star Award 2013 from The Torrance Cultural Arts Foundation and has received numerous awards from South Bay Cities as a leader in early childhood arts programming.
